Assessment
Applications are reviewed by a panel of members, and approximately 50 students will be invited to attend one of the assessment days which take place during April /May. The 20-30 students who perform best on the assessment day will be offered a place on the programme.
Format of the day
Assessment days start at 09.30am and end at 4.00pm. Dress code for the day is smart, ie what you would normally wear to an interview.
Assessment exercises
Assessments take the form of individual and group exercises. They include:-
- A short one to one interview.
- A 5-minute presentation on something you are passionate about (not marketing) which can be prepared in advance.
- Initiative test. A mock situation will be outlined to you, and you will be given 10 minutes to prepare your response to it.
- 15-minute numerical written test.
- 15-minute proof-reading test.
- Group critique of creative materials. These will be supplied on the day and you will be asked to provide answers to the questions posed.
Selection process
The exercises are assessed by a panel of members. The panel are all involved in direct, data and digital marketing, and have worked in agencies and/or client companies. They draw on their knowledge of the skills and qualities required to succeed in the profession, to evaluate the candidates.
