Creative Director
It is the Creative Director's job to ensure that the creative output of the agency is maintained at the highest standard and to champion the agency's creative philosophy to staff, clients, prospective clients and the industry at large.
The Creative Director has overall responsibility for the Creative Department, reporting to the agency Managing Director. Specific responsibilities might include:
• Controlling creative output and maintaining the creative standards of the agency
• Developing creative strategies in partnership with Account Directors and Planners
• Managing the creative department budget
• Developing and training all members of the department and helping them realise their full potential
• Recruitment of full-time staff and hiring of freelancers when necessary
• Liaison with the Traffic department to ensure the appropriate allocation of workload within the department
• Providing input and, where necessary, improving creative briefs submitted to the department
• Supervising and approving creative work at all stages of the creative process and providing guidance as appropriate
• Presenting creative work to clients as required
• Presenting the agency's creative credentials to prospects
• Providing training (e.g. in briefing and appraising creative work) to account teams and client personnel as necessary.
