Art Director


Art Directors provide the art direction skills required for a given project. They work with a copywriter to generate ideas that meet the creative brief.

An Art Director will usually report to the relevant Creative Director. Main aspects of the job include:

• Directing the creative art process as appropriate
• Presenting concept work and layouts to the Creative Director for approval
• Liasing with the Production Controller when sourcing photography and illustration
• Producing written photography and/or illustration briefs and ensuring that these are approved by the Creative Director
• Discussing the selection of external suppliers with the Creative Director or relevant parties when required
• Checking all artwork and proofs throughout the implementation process
Presenting creative work to account handlers and clients as appropriate.
