IDM Student Marketing Competition
Now in its 15th year, the IDM Student Marketing Competition is an opportunity for you to experience working on a brief set by a client and their agency.
It is open to students on full-time business degree programmes. You need 3 to 6 people in your team (choose well as there is a £1,500 prize for the winning team),
a supervising lecturer from your university and some good ideas.
This competition has been sponsored by Orange, Guinness, The Carbon Trust and this year BMWi and their agency Partners Andrews Aldridge.
They have set a task to generate 5,000 leads for the BMWi Megacity (BMW’s first commercial electric vehicle to hit the marketplace) converting to 500 sales.
If you make the final you will pitch your entry to BMW and Partners Andrews Aldridge for them to decide on an eventual winner which, in previous years,
students have found an invaluable experience.
Why do it?
Apart from the £1,500, hear what a previous winner has to say …
"The IDM Student Competition has been one of the most challenging and rewarding assignments I have completed in my three years at University of Greenwich. This project helped me work more effectively within a group and offered me an insight of how a real life marketing campaign is developed and implemented. Furthermore, it offered me a great advantage at interviews as it helped me differentiate from a very competitive graduate market. As this project encompassed both academic theory and practical skills, I would strongly recommend it to every student with an interest in marketing."
